Tiger Cubs: Part II
Julian Robertson built stock pickers. That's the story everyone knows. Tiger Management offspringed equity long/short legends: Philippe Laffont, Steve Mandel, Andreas Halvorsen, John Griffin. Names that now run or ran some of the biggest funds on earth.
But there's a lesser told branch of the Tiger Management family tree. A group that didn't chase software stocks or consumer brands. They chased palladium shortages in Siberia. Coffee bushes in Brazil. Copper mines in Indonesia.
They were Tiger's cyclical guys, and they turned into legends in their own right: Bob Bishop, Dwight Anderson, Paul Touradji and Jim Murchie.
If you missed Tiger Cubs: Part I and the story of Tiger Management.
